Focus Meeting

Focus Meeting - Initial College Planning Meeting

My goal is to make the college admissions and the financial aid processes more transparent. The 90-minute Focus Meeting is a comprehensive assessment the student’s academic and extracurricular profile as well as an analysis of financial factors affecting the family's likely net price for college. At this meeting, we’ll discuss the student’s and family’s goals, I’ll answer questions, make suggestions for improving the student’s admissibility, and explain how college selection affects affordability. Finally, we’ll talk about college planning options going forward.

The $300 fee for the meeting will be applied toward the price of The Essentials Package if a family chooses that option.

Please schedule your Focus Meeting several days out to allow yourself time to gather all materials below. I review everything prior to the meeting so we can make the most of our time together.

  • Current unofficial transcript
  • Class rank
  • Standardized test results from any PSAT, SAT, ACT, AP or IB exams already taken
  • High school profile from the high school counseling office
  • Resume or list of extracurricular activities and accomplishments
  • Family IM and FM EFC from the College Board's EFC calculator
