We Believe in Giving Back and Making an Impact in the Local Community.

“Pay As You Can” Services

Many students do not have access to quality college admissions counseling. In an effort to address this and give back to the community, College Select offers “Pay As You Can” services to selected students who will benefit from the guidance we offer. We provide “Pay As You Can” counseling opportunities for domestic students in 11th and 12th grades who are on the free or reduced lunch program at their schools or whose families are experiencing extreme financial hardship.

To be considered for a Comprehensive College Package on a “Pay As You Can” basis, submit your application during the student’s junior year and no later than June 1st before the student’s senior year. All information will be reviewed by College Select only and will be held in the strictest confidence. Families who wish to apply for our counseling scholarship should submit the following information:

  • A paragraph explaining reasons why the student would benefit from a College Select, LLC counseling scholarship
  • Up-to-date unofficial transcript from the student’s high school
  • Standardized test scores from any tests taken already including ACT, PSAT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, and AP exams
  • Resume or list of awards, activities, and part-time jobs
  • A note from the school counselor verifying the student is on free or reduced lunch
  • A list of colleges the student has considered

Groppe Scholarship Program

For the past six years, College Select has provided mentoring to First Generation Students who have been awarded the Groppe Scholarship and who are attending one of the community colleges in the greater Houston metropolitan area. We meet with the Groppe Scholar several times each semester to make sure the student is on-track with course selection in order to meet his or her career goals.

Support of Non-Profits

Each year we donate a portion of our profits to an exceptional non-profit which works in the college admissions arena. This year, our non-profit of choice is UAspire, a college affordability advising service which provides workshops and affordability materials to counselors and college access personnel throughout the country.
